Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the "Scan Factory" mobile application (bundle identifier: com.vincent.ScanApp, the "App") handles your data. The App is developed and provided by Pin-Han Su ("we", "us").

In short: all document scanning, text recognition (OCR) and PDF export happen entirely on your device. We operate no servers and collect no personal data whatsoever; your documents exist only on your device and (if you enable sync) in your own private iCloud, which we cannot read. The App contains no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics.

1. We collect nothing

The App has no accounts, no backend servers of ours, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. We cannot access — and never receive — your scanned images, recognized text or signatures.

2. Where your documents are stored

On your device: scanned images, recognized text (OCR), signatures and preferences are stored locally.
In your private iCloud: if you are signed in to iCloud, documents sync to the private iCloud database of your Apple Account — accessible only to you, protected by Apple's encryption, and unreadable by us.

Deleting a document in the App removes it from your device and your iCloud. Deleting the App removes all local data; iCloud data can be removed via iCloud storage management in system Settings.

3. Camera and Photos

The camera is used only to scan documents. Photo library access happens only when you choose "Import from Photos", via Apple's system photo picker — the App only receives the items you actively select and cannot browse your library.

4. Face ID / Touch ID

Document Lock uses your device's biometric authentication, handled by iOS. The App never receives or stores your biometric data.

5. Text recognition (OCR)

OCR runs entirely on-device (Apple Vision framework). Recognized text never leaves your device — except as part of your documents syncing to your own private iCloud.

6. Payments and subscriptions

The "Scan Factory Premium" subscription is handled by the Apple App Store. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. Receipt validation and restore are performed on-device via Apple's StoreKit. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.

7. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children, and since it collects no data, no children's personal data is ever collected.

8. Changes to this policy

If future features change how data is handled, we will update this page and its "last updated" date, and note material changes prominently inside the App.
